Psychology: The Doctrine of Demons

 By Michael Houke.

Modern psychology is less than 100 years old. I t happens to be one of the fastest growing professions in America. In 1960 14% of Americans received psychological services by 2000 it was estimated that 80% of Americans received the same. According to Ralf Nader an alarmingly large amount of mental health professionals take the stance that all who come to see them need therapy, which stretches out over a long period of time and cost thousands of dollars for each patient. No wonder it is one of the fastest growing professions in America, there is much money to made here. Dr. Tana Dineen, (a former psychologist who left her profession) claimed that psychology was a false profession and had a false basis for authority, in her book “Manufacturing Victims”. One report “The Barden Report” claims that psychology is nothing more than consumer fraud.

Here are some false assumptions about Psychotherapy/Psychology that have no biblical or scientific basis:
1. The id, ego, and superego are actual parts of the human psyche
2. Dreams are keys to understanding the unconscious and thus the person
3. Present behavior is determined by unleashed conflicts from childhood
 4. Parents are to blame for most people’s problems
 5. The first five years of life determine what a person will be like when they grow up
6. People need to attribute worth to themselves
7. People need positive self regard
8. Most problems are because of low self esteem
 9. God’s purpose is to meet people’s felt needs
10. People need high self esteem, they need to feel good about themselves
11. Christians need to be trained in Psychology to really help people
12. People need training in biblical counseling, knowing the Bible is not enough
13. The best counselor uses both psychology and the Bible
14. AA (alcoholics anonymous) was started by Christians and is based on Christian principals
15. Psychologists are better than amateurs, in dealing with mental emotional problems
16. People must pay money to obtain the best help for their emotional problems
17. Paying for a professional counselor helps to motivate people to improve.

Repeating, all of the above are false!! Research Psychiatrist E. Fuller Torrey states in his book “The Mind Game” that the techniques used by western psychiatrists are, with few exceptions, exactly the same scientific plane as techniques used by witchdoctors! Dr. Adolf Grunbaum, a distinguished professor of philosophy and research in his book “The Foundations of Psychoanalysis” states that the idea that psychotherapists know a lot about human behavior is a myth. To be honest he said they know very little and have proven even less. Robert Rosenthal a Psychologist even said, for all of our efforts, there is no compelling evidence to convince us that we do understand human behavior very well. Some Psychologist argue that their profession is an exact science, but this is not so and is flawed thinking. When a person has medical issues they seek a medical doctor. When the patient is healed there is evidence in the form of x-rays, etc. and other test that reveal a genuine healing with documentation to back it up, in many cases it is visible for all to see that the patient has been healed. Psychology on the other hand has no such evidence or documentation to show that there has been a genuine mental healing of any kind. So how do they know their patient has been healed? They simply state that they know this when their patient tells them they are healed or the patient stops visiting them. And this is called an exact science! Psychotherapy is one of the most subtle means of undermining faith in today’s church. It is a major diversion from sound biblical doctrine. It also is one of the fastest growing heresies in the church today! Christian Psychologist attempt to integrate psychology and Christianity together, getting what they call the best of both worlds but is it? Their faith rest on the roots and the teachings of the founding fathers of Psychology, namely Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung. Let’s see what we get when we look into what these two men believed and taught.
Sigmund Freud is considered the father of the psychotherapy movement. Freud was not only anti-Christian but indulged in the Occult for most of his adult life. Freud taught a mixture of sexual, homicidal, and incestial concepts about the early life’s of boys and girls. He actually taught that every boy desires to kill his father and have sexual intercourse with his mother and that every girl desires to kill her mother and have sexual intercourse with her father. He stated that this desire usually occurs between the ages of 3 and 6 years of age. According to Freud the girl is upset because she does not have a penis like boys do and she blames her mother for this. She thus desires her father because he has the protruding sex organ which she wants to share with him in sexual intercourse. You can call this whatever you want, I call it shear madness!! This issue gets much worse by description and I do not feel it is appropriate to elaborate further or otherwise I would be introducing pure pornography to you the reader, which I will refrain from. Freud actually called this a system of genital superiority for men and genital inferiority for women! This theory could have only originated from the mind of a male chauvinist. When unveiling Freud’s theories they expose nothing more than lust, incest, castration anxiety, and what he called Penis Envy for women. Is this repulsive and twisted enough for you? Could you possibly want to hear more in order to come to a conclusion about what this man taught and if it is in any way biblical and that it is in any way acceptable to be taught in our churches today? Freud had a bone to pick with Christianity and invented this repulsive nonsense to attack it. Still want to see a professional Christian therapist?
Carl Jung rejected Christianity and blamed theology for alienating his father and himself, he completely distrusted Christ. Jung then began to adhere to ancient myths, and the Occult. Jung was a believer in evolution, practiced necromancy, delved deeply into the occult, and had daily contact with disembodied spirits, which he called “Archetypes”. He even claimed his whole house was crammed with spirits. He also believed that he possessed demonic strength and had a demon in him (which he probably did). Jung was also a supporter of heresies such as Gnosticism and Alchemy. Jung taught that God was in every person, he was clearly a neo-pagan searching for God within and through ancient myths. Is it any wonder that New-Agers have a deep interest in him? Jung also had a role in the development of AA (alcoholics anonymous) which is also anti-Christian to the core.
Well, there you have it and this is just two of the men who helped found this false profession. All of the men involved had their own theories and when you combine them all together you get the profession of Psychotherapy. Which based on all of the above information is clearly a flawed profession if not outright demonic in nature. Paul warns believers not to be robbed of what they have in Christ through "philosophy and vain deceit" that turns them into victims. Psychological counseling theories are not science. They more aptly fall into Paul's category of "philosophy and vain deceit." Indeed, they resemble religion more than science. Dr. Thomas Szasz states the case very clearly in his book “The Myth of Psychotherapy”. Psychological counseling theories are collections of human opinions arranged in theoretical frameworks. They are human inventions based on the perception and personal experiences of the theorists themselves. They are "profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: which some professing have erred concerning the faith"(1 Tim. 6:20-21). Even when Paul was beaten and left for dead, he did not see himself as a victim, but as a recipient of the very life of Christ by grace through faith. Therefore he declared: "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me" (Galatians 2:20). Rather than victims forever seeking to be healed of emotional wounds, Christians are new creations in Christ (2 Cor. 5:17), fully equipped for challenges, trials, disappointments, dangers, and all sorts of calamities. Christ has won the victory and "ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power." Victimization shifts the attention away from one's own responsibility for what is thought, said, and done. Victimization shifts attention away from one's own sin and onto the sins of others committed against them. Victimization diverts believers away from the cross of Christ. Victimization robs them of gratitude for God's unspeakable gift and thereby robs them of a close walk with Him. Turning Christians into victims weakens their faith and stunts spiritual growth. Every choice to walk according to the Spirit by grace through faith brings spiritual maturity. The choice is up to every believer, whether to be a psychologically defined and created victim or to be a biblically defined sinner saved by grace and growing into the likeness of Christ. As you can see there is nothing Christian about psychology and when mixed with Christianity you get a diluted form of Christianity. There are no such things as mental disorders. That is a creation of Freud and Jung. God does use dentist and doctors but he doesn't need Psychologist. And "Christian Psychologist" is an oxymoron. This is just another false teaching of human secularism. Should take a seven year old (who may be demon possessed) to a Psychologist, what could they possibly offer? Comfort? Since when are human Psychologist the answer to demon possession? There are pastors all over the globe who can offer sound biblical help to any child or adult who is demon possessed. As for as the mentally retarded they can offer no more help in this area either. Prayer will do a lot more than any Psychologist can offer. And if what they offer is prayer then they do not need the teachings of Freud and Jung for they did not believe in God.

  1. WHY DO CHURCH LEADERS QUOTE MEN WHO TEACH DOCTRINE CONTRARY TO SCRIPTURE? NY STEVE FINNELL

Why do preachers of the gospel quote men who pervert the Scriptures? Why would you ever quote these men in a positive light? Why would church leaders ever believe men who teach and preach doctrine contrary to Scripture are worthy of being quoted.

Max Lucado Quote: "We never taught--the buzzphrase is baptismal regeneration, where you go into the baptistery lost and come out saved. We never taught that. Now, I am not saying there were not people in our church who believed that..."

Water baptism is essential to salvation. (Acts 2:38, Mark 16:16, Acts 22:16, 1 Peter 3:21).

Why would any serious church leader quote Max Lucado in a positive light?

John Piper Quote: "We are not saying that final salvation is unconditional. It is not. We must meet the condition of faith in Christ in order to inherit eternal life. But faith is not a condition for election. Just the reverse. Election is a condition for faith. It is because God chose us before the foundation of the world that he purchases our redemption at the cross and quickens us with irresistible grace and brings us to faith."

God want all men to be saved and all men have that choice.(2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.)(NKJV)

Why would a preacher of the gospel quote John Piper in a positive light?

Pope Francis Quote: "The Lord has redeemed all of us, all of us, with the blood of Christ, not just Catholics. Everyone! 'Father, the atheists?' Even the atheists......."But I don't believe, Father, I am an atheist!' But do good: We will meet one another there."

Good works cannot save anyone. (John 8:24 "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.")(NKJV)

How is it possible to quote Pope Francis in a positive light?

Billy Graham Quote: "....or the non-believing world, they are members of the Body of Christ because they've been called by God. They may not even know the name of Jesus but they know in their hearts that they need something that that don't have, and they turn to the only light that they have, and I think that they are saved, and that they're going to be in heaven."

Can you not believe in Jesus and be saved? (John 8:24 "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.")(NKJV)

Tony Campolo Quote? "going to heaven is like going to Philadelphia... There are many ways...It doesn't make any difference how we go there. We all end up in the same place.(Carpe Diem: Seize the Day, 1994 pages 85-88)

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.(NKJV)

Why would preachers and teachers of the gospel quote men in a positive light who pervert the gospel of Christ?

    Why not just quote Scriptures?
