Real Hope. Real Change.

In light of the upcoming presidential elections, many are going to put their hope in the candidate that will give them the best chance at having a better life here in America.
Whatever political party you vote for, we can all agree that no president has come through 100% with every promise he has made to make things better. That is why we need to go to the source of real hope and real change.
We live in a world that to put all of our hope in politicians is plain foolishness. Our world is fallen and sin cursed, and every attempt by man to reform or transform every ill caused by sin is ultimately futile in the big scheme of things. Yes, much good has been done to help aid people, but the real issue lies within the human heart. Jeremiah 17:9: "“The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?
This goes completely against what our culture and world tells us. That man is basically good and has the potential to make things better.  Unfortunately, that has not been the case and will not be: " But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—  having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people."( 1 Timothy 3:1-5)
Scripture tells us that in the last days (which we are now living in)  people will grow more and more wicked. All we have to do is read a newspaper or watch the news to see this! The world is not evolving into a better place and humans have not figured out how to solve everything caused by sin: cancer, disease, divorce, murder, drug and alcohol abuse, abortion, etc. In fact, these issues are getting worse!
To view this life and this world as the only thing we have to live for, is to lose sight of what Jesus declared: "What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? (Mark 8:36)
Our souls, which are eternal will live forever! That real person, who is truly you, will go on after this life either to heaven or hell! Matthew 25:46: "“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life. ” The "they" Jesus is speaking of here are the people who are not made righteous.
We all need to be made righteous because none of us possesses this righteousness within ourselves! We have all fallen short of the glory of God! But Jesus does possesses this righteousness we need and also is the real hope and change we desperately need!
By dying on the cross in our place, Jesus took on the sin we committed and paid the penalty that our sin deserved! In turn, for those who place their hope and trust in that sacrifice, they will get Jesus' righteousness. " God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." ( 2 Corinthians 5:21)
God sees the believer in all the righteousness of Christ and fit for heaven! His promise is true and we can count on Him to come through 100%:  "He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God."
Please place your hope in the only source of true change: Jesus Christ! "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,  and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you." (1 Peter 1:3-4)
In Christ -Dustin
