Is Allah (the god of the Muslims) the same as the God of the Bible?

Image
That Allah is not the God of the Bible is very clear. The biblical God is called Yahweh (or Jehovah) nearly 9,000 times. Yet Allah is not called by that name   even once  in the Koran. Why not, if Allah is the same God? God is also referred to as Elohim more than 2,500 times in the Bible, but again that word never appears for Allah in the Koran. Why? The God of the Bible is called “The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob/ Israel   [2] ” (Jacob’s name was changed by God to   Israel   [2]   later in life, so he is referred to by either name). He is the father of the Jews. The God of the Bible revealed himself to Moses at the burning bush by this name (“God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob/ Israel   [2] ”) and told Moses, “this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations” (Ex 3:1-16). If Allah is the God of the Bible, why is he   never  called by these names? The God of the Bible tells us again and agai...

Why Did Jesus Have To Die?

Image
Most will say, "Because He loved us." It is true, that was His motivation for dying, but that answer does not explain  why  He had to die. Some will say "He died to forgive us." But why did He have to die to forgive us? It is because the wages of sin is death (Rom.  6:23 ). The soul who sins will die, which results in separation from God (Ezekiel 18:4; Isaiah 59:2). The Lord Jesus had to die to satisfy divine justice so that sinners could be reconciled to God.  How Can Sinners Escape Divine Justice? Divine justice is a central theme in the Bible because it reflects God's holy and righteous character and His commitment to uphold moral order. Justice is a foundational characteristic of God's relationship with humanity. His punishment of sin is necessary for justice to be upheld according to His perfect and righteous standards. Everyone needs to know that they are accountable to their Creator, who requires us to be perfect as He is perfect (Mat.  5:48 ). Sin...

Great is Your Faithfulness, Morning by Morning (Lamentations 3:21-23)

Image
This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. Through  the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are  new every morning; Great  is  Your faithfulness. a.  This I recall to mind, therefore I have hope : For perhaps the first time in the book,  hope  is allowed. Having sunk low in his soul ( Lamentations 3:20 ), Jeremiah now remembered something that started  hope  within. i. “In a magnificent expression of faith in the unfailing mercies of God, the writer looks to the distant future with renewed hope.” (Harrison) ii. “At the south of Africa the sea was generally so stormy, when the frail barks of the Portuguese went sailing south, that they named it the Cape of Storms; but after that cape had been well rounded by bolder navigators, they named it the Cape of Good Hope. In your experience you had many a Cape of Storms, but you have weathered them all, and now, let them be a Cape of Good Hope to you....

Are keeping the Old Testament Feasts Necessary?

Image
❓ Question: I have a friend who keeps insisting that it is necessary for me to keep the Old Testament feasts of the Jews. They also keep the Saturday Sabbath. It is said that the early church kept the Sabbath, Gentiles and Jews together. Many times we read that Paul wanted to return to Jerusalem to keep the feasts. In the Millenium, Zechariah 14 verses 16-21 says that any nation that does not keep the Feast of Tabernacles will be punished and not receive rain. If all these things are merely meanings and symbols, why does the Lord then re-institute them at the end of time? ✅Answer: Several seminar ministries make a point of offering a large sum of money for one verse in the New Testament stating that Sunday worship was exchanged for the Sabbath. They might as well offer the same sum of money for one verse proving that Gentile believers are required to keep the Sabbath and Jewish feasts. Both positions are equally secure. In contrast, during what some have called the first church co...

Why Do So Many Reject God's Gospel?

Image
Why do so many reject the greatest gift anyone could ever receive? Why would anyone refuse a gift so amazing that Paul called it "indescribable" (2 Cor.  9:15 )? This free gift of God's grace is offered to everyone, yet very few ever receive it. What causes people to reject the everlasting glory of eternal life with Christ Jesus our Lord (Rom  6:23 )? From a human perspective this makes absolutely no sense, but from a divine perspective, the answers are all found in God's Word.   Spiritual Blindness The apostle Paul wrote: "the god of this world (Satan) has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that they might not see the light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God" (2 Cor. 4:4). Unbelievers are spiritually blind with a veil covering their heart. The only way the veil of blindness can be removed is by turning to the Lord (2 Cor.  3:16 ). Until then, they are excluded from the life of God and remain darkened in their ...
